The Riverlands Alliance Invasive Species Task Force Team (RAIST) was founded in 2020 to promote regionally important activities that support the RA vision and mission. The RAIST stems from the recognition that healthy, native plant and animal communities help lead to thriving human communities via the protection of our natural resources and reductions in the economic consequences often associated with invasive species. This has been highlighted in recent years by the invasion of Asian carp into the region’s ecological community.
The vision of the RAIST is a healthy and resilient Riverlands Region where native plants and animals predominate.
The mission of the RAIST is to foster a thriving Riverlands Region through invasive species management, restoration of native plant and animal communities, public awareness, and citizen involvement.
